Wyndham Resort in Nadi has boosted the dreams of Lewa Sewa Under-13 netball reps Melaia Tuidraki and Adi Anaisi Derenalagi for their tour of New Zealand on Wednesday.

The world class resort based on Denarau Island came to the rescue of the girls of Narewa Village.

Wyndham Resort general manager Bob Speed said it was part of their social responsibility to assist the two girls to achieve their dream.

“We’re very happy to assist the two girls in the NZ tour, I know it is their first time and they need to be comfortable,” said Speed.

“This shows our support and commitment towards sports as we’ve also help touch rugby and rugby league. It will be a very exciting and the Tui Nadi (Ratu Sailosi Dawai) will be proud of their achievement.

Year Eight students, Tuidraki attend Nadi District School while Derenalagi attends Delana Methodist Primary in Lautoka.

“We are very thankful to the resort for assisting us during out our historic tour,” said Tuidraki.

The two are part of the contingent comprising 30 players and 10 officials who will play their first game tomorrow in their nine-day tour of New Zealand.

The Lewa Sewa Netball Association will be fielding three teams at the 2014 Pasifika Netball Tournament in Auckland, on October 11.

The tournament will be held at the AMI Sports Centre in Auckland.
