What do you do when students are locked out of a computer lab including their lecturer whose key is in the lab too?

Option 1: Look for a spare key. None

Option 2: Look for the master key: None

Option 3: Call for a locksmith or security officers with a crowbar.

Guess what, a Suva institution for higher learning, chose the crowbar to break down this expensive glass/wooden door. The mess was big. But the cost was even bigger. Who will pay?

Be accountable

One of the country’s sporting bodies is now without money. Dickie Bird said this was after their major sponsor pulled the plug last week and also has given their list of demands which must be fulfilled before the funding resumes.

This is all done for the sake of accountability and transparency.

Still missing

The Fiji Labour Party management had their meeting this week. According to Dickie Bird everything went well accept for one item in the agenda, which they cannot dwell on.

That is the non-appearance of candidate Dr Rohit Kishore who was summoned to answer to management over the comments he had made against party leader Mahendra Chaudhry.

Name calling

Certain members of the Opposition were contemplating using name-calling in the House as what they say is covered under parliamentary privilege.

Dickie Bird said they could be in for a surprise if they stoop too low.

Party unity?

Most time trade unionists are deemed as those that champions workers rights and other times they are seen as troublemakers.

For the National Federation Party, Dickie Bird says, the emergence of a disgruntled group is alleged to be the work of trade unionists within the party.
