Fiji Sun Opens In MHCC

The Fiji Sun yesterday became the latest business to operate from downtown Suva’s big, busy MHCC shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
A Fiji Sun classified advertising centre was officially opened there by the WR Carpenter South Pacific & Australia Group chief financial officer Jayapal Jayaraj.
The centre – next to the entrance to the MHCC Supermarket – will be open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm.
Among those to come by to see the Fiji Sun centre was MHCC principal owner Tan Sri Sir Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin. Sir Mogan is head of MBF Holdings, the Malaysian conglomerate operating in Malaysia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Australia.
Fiji Sun Publisher/CEO Peter Lomas  said of the opening: ”It signals three important things.
“The continuing growth of the Fiji Sun with more offices nationwide than any other media company.
“The first newspaper in Fiji with an office where people can place advertisements seven days a week, 9am to 9pm.
“The Fiji Sun’s belief in MHCC as the place to be in Suva. We are taking our services to where the people are.”
Mr Lomas paid special tribute to the role of Carpenters Fiji director retail and marketing Kunaseelan Sabaratnam in the Fiji Sun opening in MHCC.
WR Carpenters (SP) Limited Group director Martin Haeger said at the opening:
“We like to call our tenants our partners because of the success of the centre, a combination of the working partnership between the tenants and the landlords.
“We welcome you to that team and in this location, you will certainly benefit from something in the order of 15,000 to 20,000 customers passing through every day and your success will be our success.”
