Water Carted to Higher Areas In Labasa

Most of Fiji remains unchanged with some areas still experiencing tap water
shortages.
A Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) statement stated that water in Labasa continued as normal, whereas those customers residing in elevated areas faced low water pressure with water carting being provided as required.
Savusavu customers continue to receive tap water but only during the day time to conserve water where the yield has been reduced.
Water carting continues for those living in the rural areas experiencing water shortage.
The authority is working closely with the Commissioner Northern to supply water to those affected in the rural areas.
WAF states that in Taveuni low water pressure continues to affect areas in the North of the island with some water carting required.
In the South, water carting continues as the authority works to install three desalinisation plants later this month that should satisfy that area’s water requirements.
With the dry spell expected to continue in the coming months it is important that everyone uses water wisely.
