Youths Learn Entrepreneurship

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou, urged youths at the Nasau Training Centre, Nadroga, to make use of opportunities provided to them.
Speaking during the closing of the Know About Business (KAB) training, yesterday Mr Tuitubou said that the training was to help the students learn more about entrepreneurship.
“The programme should give you awareness and a chance to make use of opportunities, challenges, procedures, characteristics, attitudes and skills needed for entrepreneurship.
The training prepares students not only to establish their own businesses but also to work productively in small and medium sized enterprises.
“Though the training will not produce miracles overnight, KAB is aimed at promoting more entrepreneurial behaviours to our young people,” Mr Tuitubou said.
He advised the students that an important aspect to economic growth in any country would be the role of an individual.
He also mentioned that the Government will provide start-up grants to individual and youth clubs to engage in micro-businesses that will stimulate economic growth come next year.
Thirty six participants graduated from the one- week training with new skills in carpentry and agriculture.
