The Land Transport Authority needs more allocation in the next Budget to expand its operations, says its chief executive officer, Naisa Tuinaceva.
Mr Tuinaceva said like any other agency, the authority needed more money.
“We want to expand our work on our operations,” Mr Tuinaceva said.
“We want to deliver, we want to live to the expectancy of the Government of the day. We want to do more for the people of Fiji and obviously that will come with a cost and the question about money is that we need more.”

LTA will probe minibus fare: Tuinaceva
The Authority says it will thoroughly investigate any complaints made against minibus drivers charging high fares.
Mr Tuinaceva said minibus drivers were supposed to be charging fares close to fares charged by bus operators.
“The thing about minibus is that their structure has been de-regulated, so I think some of them have used that to abuse that provision, charging that fare which is wrong,” Mr Tuinaceva said.
“It’s always the understanding that they will align themselves very closely with what the bus charges as their bus fare. We are looking into how we can regulate the bus fares. That kind of openings is not good because some exploit that provision, some take advantage of the de-regulation of provision to do their own way of charging fares.”
He said some commuters had lodged reports against the increase in minibus fares.
