Movement Limited for Parliament Sitting

Movement will be restricted and limited on the first day of the sitting of Parliament.
This was confirmed by the Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro.
Ms Naisoro said some roads would be closed to ensure the safety and security of all parliamentarians and the parliament complex on the first sitting of Parliament tomorrow and Tuesday.
She said they were pleading to the public for their co-operation on this matter.
“Movement to and around Government Buildings will be limited; the Southern Cross Road behind the Albert Park pavilion will be closed from 7am on Monday and road blocks will be erected at both ends to allow only official vehicles to enter from the Holiday Inn end and to exit at the other end,” Ms Naisoro said.
“Movement will also be restricted from the Masonic Hall entry along Gladstone Road from 7am to allow for identified Government vehicles only.
“Other points of entry to the Government Buildings Complex will be open however officers will be deployed at various points of entries.”
She said members of the public could only access these roads by foot.
The same security measures will be implemented on Tuesday, October 7 with both points of entries being sealed off at 7am.
