What happened: The Kamal Swamy- coached Nadi side is on track to end their 11 years winless jinx.
This was after the jetsetters demolished Tailevu /Naitasiri 4-0  during the 2014 Courts Inter- District Championship round one encounter at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last night.
It was a replay of the 1974 IDC final in Nadi  where the jetsetters won 1-0. It was the last time Tailevu /Naitasiri tasted top flight soccer before being  relegated by Navua in the 1989 promotion -relegation.
In the 3rd minute Shafim Buksh chipped an 18 -yard shot and was untouched by goalie Lemeki Nakavu sending the friends into frenzy.
Halftime: Nadi 1 – 0 Tailevu /Naitasiri
In the second half the visitors attacked well in the midfield but their finishing let them down.
In the 79th minute William Valentine scored before Josefata Dugucagi and Lekima Gonerau sealed the win.
Star Turn: Nitin Kumar despite his height played well in  defence for Tailevu/ Naitasiri.
Big Play: Shafim Buksh made a big contribution in Nadi’s win.
Comments: Nadi coach Kamal Swamy said: I’m happy we did well. Tailevu/ Naitasiri played well as they were not a weak team. But we knew we will rattle them in the last 30 minutes since they have been playing 60 minutes soccer all this while.
Tailevu/Naitasiri coach Shalendra Roy said: Playing 90 minutes of soccer is something new to the boys. In the last  15 minutes, the boys  did not know what to do.  We need to improve in our next game.”
