What happened: The Luke Rawadamu -captained Finance Pacific Nadroga side had only themselves to blame for their 1-0 loss to Rewa in the 2014 Courts Inter-District Championship match at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.
Nadroga fielded three debutants Don Diven Raj, Joeli Navalawa and Ravinesh Dass and the return of Ilaisa Qereqeretabua boost the team. Rewa’s Eric Nigel Chand made his debut for the Delta Tigers.
Both teams failed to score in the first half
Halftime: Nadroga 0-0 Rewa
The Delta Tigers came back in the second spell which resulted in Don Diven Raj’s handling the ball in the penalty box.
Rewa defender Simione Maikali beat goalkeeper Alivereti Baleiloa in 59th minute.
In the last 10 minutes Rewa were reduced to 10-men after Jone Kaloutani was sent off after a late tackle on Krishneel Dutt.
Star turn: Nadroga striker Joeli Navalawa played and should improve with more game time.
Big Play: Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau stood out for the Delta Tigers.
Comments:  Rewa coach Marika Rodu;  “I’m not happy with how the boys played but a win is a win which is important. The boys took longer to adapt themselves”
Nadroga coach Joseph Nand “It is very disappointing to see us lose this game which was in our hand. That handball did cost us the match but the new players did play and playing champion team like Rewa you just have to be at your best.”
