Bottled Water For Schools

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has received two shipping containers of bottled water, worth $50,000, donated by Natural Waters of Viti Ltd, bottlers of Fiji Water.
The aid is for relief efforts for schools and health centres in parts of the country affected by the prolonged dry period.
The chief executive officer of the company, Rokoseru Nabalarua, said the request for aid was made by the ministry and they happily responded.
“What we are pleased about is that some communities, particularly in remote, rural and maritime islands are struggling to have water and I believe some of this water will go to health centres and schools in these areas that need it most,” Mr Nabalarua said.
He said it was a pleasure for them to participate in some way that would alleviate water problems brought about by the prolonged dry period.
“Fiji Water always tries to reach out to people in need especially if our help means that children continue to attend schools.”
“Thank you for giving us this opportunity to assist the government supplying water to the people who need it,” Mr Nabalarua said.
The Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Rural Development, Filipe Alifereti, thanked the company for the assistance.
“We are very thankful and grateful for the great assistance that you have given us,” Mr Alifereti said.
He said the assistance was a private sector – government participation in a disaster, Mr Alifereti said.
