The loss of Emosi Mulevoro and Eminoni Nasilasila will have a profound effect on the Vodafone Fiji 7s squad during the Gold Coast 7s this weekend.

Head coach Ben Ryan said yesterday it was a blow to lose the two players to injuries.

“They are terrific players and are very popular members of the squad,” he said.

Ryan admitted it was tough ruling Nasilasila out but was confident he would bounce back in time for the Dubai 7s.

“It was a hard decision for Eminoni but it’s in his best interest. He is a very talented player and I have been very impressed with him.”

Ryan said Mulevoro has not fully recovered from an ankle injury and would be replaced by Jerry Tuwai while Nasilasila suffered a concussion.

“I am confident that they will be back in time to be considered for Dubai and both will be offered full time contracts with the Vodafone Fiji 7s team after the tournament. Such is the regard they are currently held in.”

Tuwai is currently with the team, while Ravouvou leaves for the Gold Coast today.
