Nadroga coach Joseph Nand yesterday confirmed that Takanano had sustained a toe injury in their opener against Rewa.

“Samuela is now out of the IDC,” Nand said.

“He is undergoing herbal therapy, but we do not want to take the risk as there are players who could fill in for him,” he said.

Nand said despite the setback they would fight tooth and nail when they face defending champion Ba.

Nadroga upset Ba 1-0 during pool play of the 2014 Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament in Nausori.

Nand said they are in a do-or-die situation after they lost 1-0 to Rewa.

“We have time to sort things out but we are positive of a good outing against Ba. It’s a tough match probably for us it’s our last game. We have to play for a win otherwise it’s the end of us this season.”

Nand is happy with the performance of his young players like 17-year-old Don Deven Raj.

“I’m happy with our performance despite the result as we have brought in new players for next year’s Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League competition. A couple of players made their debut and we just have to play our basics right.”
