Fiji Airways reported its highest on-time performance of 89.95 per cent in September when compared with the past few years.

The means the national airline has continued its remarkable turnaround from August where 84.7 per cent was recorded and July where 77.3 per cent was noted.

Fiji Airways Group managing director /chief executive, Stefan Pichler, said the airline team did well to improve on-time performance back to above-industry standards.

“After lower numbers in June and July, our team was committed to improving the on-time performance beyond our monthly target of 80 per cent,” he said.

“Delays and disruptions cause us just as much frustration as it does to our valued guests.

“And while many factors affecting OTP will be beyond our control, our operations teams are working hard to limit disruptions as much as possible.”

Mr Pichler assured they will maintain this focus as they enter the busy last three months of 2014.

Fiji Link, meanwhile, continued their above 90 per cent performance this year, with a 94.52 per cent OTP in September, compared to 96.1 per cent in August and 95 per cent in July.

Mr Pichler praised the Fiji Link team for their stellar focus on operations in 2014.
