Navua Find Premier Comp Tough

Navua played their first game in the Premier division against Lami yesterday after being relegated from the Super Premier division in September.

Head coach Mohammed Shafeel said they  had to adapt to the style of playing in the Premier division after beating Lami 2-0.

“We won our game but it was really tough for us to do, it wasn’t a walk in the park for us especially coming down from the Super Premier division,” Shafeel said.

“To come down and play in the Premier division was really hard for us and we had to struggle in our first game.

“It was a good competition and we cannot underestimate any team in the Premier division,” said Shafeel.

“The tournament is made up of good quality players and we cannot say that teams in the premier division are weak.

“The atmosphere and the level of playing is totally different from that of the Super Premier and it is really challenging.”
