What happened: INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants winner Rewa and defending champions Ba have bowed out of the 2014 Courts IDC.

This was after they drew 1-1 in their pool game at the ANZ Stadium today.

Ba wasted no time putting points up on the board in the 12th minute, as Avinesh Swamy kicked a perfectly angled free kick just outside the Rewa box.

Both teams failed to score through the remainder of the game ending it 1-0.

Halftime: Ba 1-0 Rewa

Rewa came back more composed in the second spell going on the attack which paid off in the 51st minute after impact player Nasoni Mereke scored the equaliser, 1-1. Rewa’s equalizer fired the team up, Peniame Drova and Mereke created opportunities to score goals but were unlucky.

Star turn:

Nasoni Mereke played well for Lautoka.

Big play:

Ba goalkeeper Epeli Codro was the toast of the two goalkeepers

Comments:

Rewa Football president Nazeel Buksh said; “Most of our key players were injured but the players played really well and I know that Rewa’s future is looking bright.”

Ba coach Ravinesh Kumar, “We started well and scored and should have scored more. Congratulations to Nadroga for qualifying but I was a little bit disappointed with the match officials.”
