The BLK Nadroga side proved they are the best when it comes to defending the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge title.

The side yesterday thrashed VGM Vatukoula 55-12 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

What happened: The Stallions got to a firing start in the first half after national rep Emosi Vucago led by example for his side scoring a try in the 6th minute which was not converted by  Ratunaisa Vatuinaruku.

13th minute- Nadroga’s Alivereti Raka ran past Vatukoula’s defence to score under the post, Vatuinaruku converted.

18th minute- Vatukoula replied with a try to Timoci Ratu, converted by Saimioni Nuku.

33rd minute- Nadroga flyhalf Vatuinaruku kicked a penalty to extend their lead.

37th minute- The Stallions split the Vatukoula’s defence with a try to prop Luke Salaba, conversion successful by Vatuinaruku.

Halftime: Nadroga 22-7 Vatukoula.

The Stallions started with a try in the 47th minute to flanker Apisai Moimoi and converted by Emosi Vucago.

53rd minute- Vatuinaruku touc-hed down for another seven points.

The Stallions showed the visitors that the prestigious silverware was for Nadroga to keep till the next challenge with three tries to Sailosi Rabonaqica (65’), Tuiba Batiratu (69’) and Luke Tirimaidoka (77’).

Vatukoula managed to pull another try in the 85th minute to Leone Ratulevu.

Star Play: Nadroga scrumhalf Vucago played a lead role in the win.

Big Play: Vatuinaruku performed well with his general play.

Comments: Nadroga captain Ratunaisa Narukutabua said; “It was a very good game and we knew Vatukoula would give us a tough challenge and that’s why we always trained hard.”

Vatukoula coach Senirusi Seruvakula said; “We were beaten by a good and a well trained team.

“We have a lot of areas we need to work on.”
