It was a double celebration for Daya Wati as she celebrated her 51st birthday and Fiji Day at My Suva Picnic Park in Nasese last Friday.

“Fiji Day has always been special as it coincides with my birthday,” Ms Wati said.

She said she always looked forward to the public holiday because she gets to spend a lot of quality time with her loved ones.

“I’m really happy that my relatives from Sigatoka are here for the Fiji Day celebration and together we are having so much fun.”

Kamal Prasad of Nabitu, Sigatoka said he came to Suva with his family to celebrate Fiji Day.

“Every year I come with my family to Suva to celebrate Fiji Day because this is a great way to relax and spend some quality time together,” Mr Prasad said.

His wife, Vikashni Lata said because Diwali festival was nearing, they had cleaned their house and wanted to spend some time relaxing away from home.

“We know that Diwali will be a busy time for all of us so we took time out and came down to Suva to unwind,” Ms Lata said.

She said this was one of the best ways to spend Fiji Day.
