One hundred and thirty-three youths of the Methodist Church’s Ba Division met at the Ratu Rusiate Nabuta Memorial School in Nailaga Village for a three-day camp.

Youths representing the eight sub-divisions of the church in Ba which include Nailaga, Matawalu, Nasolo, Naloto, Yakete, Sorokoba, Natutu and Ba town were part of the camp.

Youth camp leader Maikali Levukaiciwa said the aim of the camp was to bring young boys and girls together and refresh their thinking.

“They are here to be reminded of their roles in society as it is part of the church to administer simple issues,” Mr Levukaiciwa said.

“It has been a while; it has been about 10 years since we had the last youth camp in the Ba division.

“Officials from various departments including heath, education, Police and agriculture spoke on the importance of their subjects, their respective careers and the spiritual side.”

He said their important subject of study would be John Wesley’s life in the mission and how youths can improve their lives.

“There is always a need to improve their way of thinking so they can be confident, choose colourful careers, and their spiritual mindset as well,” he said.

Ba Methodist High School Year 10 student Mereani Mata said, “This is my first time to be part of the camp, and I guess it will assist me to know my peers well and paramount is to build a strong faith.”

The youths had marched into camp on Thursday and will break camp today..
