What happened:

All Freight Logistics Suva won the Courts Inter-District Championship with a 1-0 win against Shop N Save in the final at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

Former Nadi striker Napolioni Qasevakatini scored in the 114th minute in extra time to give Suva their first IDC win at home after 31 years.

The team playing with 10 players in the extra time were more determined to win and it was Qasevakatini who answered their prayers.

Nadi had lot of chances to score, even, when Suva was a man down following a red card to defender Kolinio Sivoki in the final minutes of the first spell of extra time.

Star Turn:

Qasevakatini made a huge difference for Suva.

The stylish striker was dangerous in attack and made no mistake when he had the opportunity to score against his former team where he grew up playing.

Comments: Suva coach Gurjit Singh said: “We deserve this win as our players have played their hearts out. We were a man down and I had full faith in my players that they will deliver.

“There were a lot of criticisms when Qasevakatini joined Suva and he has made Suva fans proud.”

Singh also highlighted that he wants to make Suva the best team in the region and Suva will make Fiji proud when they play in the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League next year.

“We are starting our preparation for the Champions League and definitely we will take the best team.”

Suva walked away with $18000 prizemoney for winning the IDC and the  new 30kg Lloyd Farebrother Trophy.

Nadi received $5000 as runners-up.
