Ministry Treats Kids To Celebration

Seventy-six children from four residential homes were part of Fiji Day celebrations at Albert Park last Friday.
This was made possible through the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, which organised transport and free lunch for the 76 children.
They were from Dilkusha Home, Homes of Hope, Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre and Pearly Gates Home.
It was also the first time for children from Dilkusha Home to witness the Fiji Day celebrations
Assistant matron of the Home Alisi Koroi said their children were excited and happy to witness the parade.
“We have 25 children – 22 girls and 3 boys – with their age ranging from one-year to 22 years. These children are excited to see the march procession. We thank the Ministry for thinking of the children, especially during a national event like this. It gave them the opportunity to come out and have a good time together with other children.” Mrs Koroi said.
