Police are now investigating six break-ins that have been reported over the past 24 hours in the Western Division.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the reports and said investigations were underway.

“They were reported yesterday morning (Sunday) from different locations in Lautoka,” Ms Naisoro said.

“Details are sketchy at the moment, but it has been confirmed that the main item stolen were cash, she said

Meanwhile, investigations are also underway for the three incidents since last Thursday, along the Queens Highway near Sabeto in Nadi at 11:30pm.

These include a road accident which hospitalised six passengers and a driver, a bush fire in Nadi where a family was happy to have been saved by the quick response of the National Fire Authority and Police to prevent the fire from spreading at Martintar.

In another incident, a truck driver was lucky to escape injuries after his truck veered off the road and took a downhill plunge at Teidamu in Ba last Friday at around 10am.

Police have urged the public to be careful while on the roads or at home.
