Congratulations: Vodafone Fiji 7s team
The Fiji Textile, Clothing and Footwear Industry Council warned that the shortage in machinists could prompt delays in the industry as performance expects to normalise following the initial challenges of the COVID-19 crisis.

On behalf of the Fiji Rugby Union Board of Directors, Management and Staff, I would like to congratulate the Vodafone Fiji 7s team for winning the first leg of the 2014/2015 IRB 7s Series in Gold Coast last night.

It was indeed a proud moment and a great way to end the Fiji Day celebrations here at home.

While you have one in the pocket, there is still a long journey ahead and it will be a tough one to travel as you have eight more rounds to go for the 2014/2015 IRB 7s Series and all the other teams will be aiming for that number one spot.

However, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team has definitely stamped its mark on the opening round of the IRB 7s Series and Vodafone Fiji 7s Head Coach Ben Ryan and his 7s Gladiators will need to consistently maintain this level of performance for the remainder of the series if we are to achieve the goal of qualifying for the Rio Olympics in 2016.

I would like to remind the team to remain strong and steadfast in their quest and put aside all the criticisms and their fear for it says in (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed”.

I would also like to thank Ben Ryan, team management and the Vodafone Fiji 7s team for all their sacrifices and commitment.

All the Best for the remainder of the series and May the good Lord bless you and your families.
