Senior citizens at the Babasiga Ashram in Labasa had a reason to smile after the staff of Jack’s of Fiji Labasa outlet visited them last weekend.

Staff members took food and other stuff needed by the home.

Jack’s of Fiji Labasa shop manager Avinesh Krishna said, “Going to the Babasiga Ashram was a pre- Diwali visit and we also want these old people to have a sense of belonging in every celebration we celebrate,” Mr Krishna said.

“We came here today and brought food and our staff members also cleaned the home” he said.

“The reality is that these old people need our support and people should make time to visit the home.

“We felt sorry for these old people when we visit them because they need the support from the general public.

“Small things like clothes or sweets would bring a smile to these old people and it was pleasing to see them smile,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Krishna said the shop planned to visit the Ashram during other celebrations and they had planned to visit other homes in Labasa.
