New Zealand’s Acting Head of Mission Mark Ramsden has congratulated Ratu Inoke Kubuabola as Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Minister in Fiji’s newly-elected Government.

The two met at Ratu Inoke’s office in Suva on Monday where the Minister said – “Fiji is looking forward to strengthening its bilateral relations with New Zealand.”

They discussed issues that were of importance on a bilateral level, regional level and multilateral levels.

In addition, they also discussed possible areas of co-operation between the two countries, which will enhance their bilateral relations.

Ratu Inoke was presented with a ‘Te Toki’, a Maori Adze.

The Maori Adze was the property of a chieftain’s family.

The ‘Te Toki’ was carried by the chief on ceremonial occasions as a symbol of his status establishing him as a man of authority.
