Bua native Parma Nand considers the rainfall in the Northern Division a blessing.

Mr Nand is among the many farmers who faced the disappointments of expired land leases but moves on diligently to earn a living through farming and selling his crops in the market, a task that he proudly does for the past 18 years.

“This time is very good for us because of the rain; we could not water our vegetables before because there was not enough water on our taps,” the 54-year-old farmer of Siberia said.

“With this continuous rain it will be good for business in terms of profit. There will be more healthy crops and vegetables this month and I am very happy,” he said.

Mr Nand looks forward to provide healthy crops and vegetables for people in the North.

According to the Fiji Meteorological Service centre in Nadi more rain is expected in Labasa today.
