the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation is all set for yet another very exciting two-day programme for the Top Executives (TOPEX) 2014 conference which begins today.

The annual conference will be held at the Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa with over 80 delegates made up of chief executives and senior management expected to attend.

The event will be opened by the Permanent Secretary for Industry and Trade, Shaheen Ali.

Federation chief executive, Nesbitt Hazelman, said through this event, amongst other things, they are also looking to provide the business community an opportunity to meet after the general elections.

“It is a full-on programme and we are touching on various thematic areas – from economy right down to trade as well as risk management,” he said.

Mr Hazelman said one of the cornerstone of this meeting would be that the President will launch the Women Entrepreneurs and Business Council’s first three-year strategic plan.

This will be launched by the President on Saturday evening and Mr Hazelman described this as a milestone in itself.

“The women have a session there on how they can integrate with the formal sector and the challenges they face in entering business,” he said.

“Shane Jones, who is New Zealand’s ambassador for the Pacific Region, is our keynote speaker.

“We also have speakers coming all the way from Singapore who will be speaking on productivity and a HR professional to talk to CEOs about HR.”
