A participant in the 2014 FANCA tournament has hailed the event as a good opportunity to get together with family and friends after many years of living overseas.

Jalil Khan (Pictured above), originally from Suva, now resides in Vancouver, Canada. He said the tournament was about renewing family ties and keeping in touch with their roots in Fiji.

“I’ve lived in Canada for 20 years and I’ve been coming to the FANCA since 2004. It’s a great time to get back to our roots and meet up with family and friends here in Fiji,”Khan said.

“I’m from Suva and I’m proud of the hometown team for winning the IDC. Congratulations to the team.”

Khan has been active in the Fijian community in Vancouver and is  the vice-president of BC Muslim Sports Association and FANCA.
