Methodist Youths End Meet

Methodist Church in Fiji youths took part in the week-long Methodist Youth Fellowship Week which ended yesterday.

For the youths of the Centenary Church in Suva, the week was resourceful and filled with learning and discussions on issues that affected their daily lives.

Centenary Church Youth Fellowship advisor Vasemaca Lomaloma said they had presentations from the World Health Organisation, Fiji National Provident Fund, Fiji Police Force and Peace Corps.

“The theme of the week was ‘Self-Discipline’. There were representatives from the church who spoke to the youths about spiritual discipline.

“We brought in other organisations to talk to us about important issues like non-communicable diseases, climate change, human trafficking and sexual offences,” Ms Lomaloma said.

“We discussed how these issues affect our daily lives and how they relate directly or indirectly to our spiritual lives.”

Youth member Elenoa Nalawa said discussions about these issues helped them.

“Most of us are not aware of what’s happening around us. I think it helps empowers youths as we go through the forever changing world that we live in now,” Ms Nalawa said.
