The Hindu Police officers at the Fiji Police Force headquarters at the Vinod Patel Complex, Laucala Beach, Suva, yesterday hosted Christian and Muslim colleagues to a pre-Diwali celebration.

Organiser and Police director traffic, Senior Superintendent Mahesh Mishra said this year was the third time they celebrated with their colleagues.

“We always celebrate every major religious event and this is a sign of unity,” SSP Mishra said.

“It is also a time where it shows our togetherness, bonding and how we move forward together.”

The group, made up of close to 40 Hindu officers, treated their colleagues by treating them to sweets and savouries.

Police Commissioner Bernardus Groenewald was the chief guest at the celebration.
