Marist took out the Nabouva Volleyball Tournament in Wainibuka yesterday beating the Tamavua Bulls in three straight sets, (25-12, 25-14 and 25-16) in rainy conditions.

Led by Fiji national Temipale Finau, Marist gave the Bulls no breathing space as they displayed superior fitness and power.
But the rain failed to dampen the spirits of the 16 volleyball teams that travelled to Nabouva in Wainibuka yesterday.

The volleyball programme, sponsored by Digicel Fiji and held in conjuction with the village fundraising activities brought out Nabouva villagers from around the country.
The women’s competition was won by Vatuwaqa outfit Stingrays who defeated Nabouva local team, Mosquitoes 2-0.

Despite the bad weather conditions, the tournament proved to be a great success.
Also making an appearance was the Police team from Suva who are preparing for the Sukuna Bowl volleyball meet scheduled for next week.

Police bowed out in the quarter-finals against the Bulls.
