Labasa TISI Sangam brought smiles to several needy families in Labasa this week as they distributed food.

More than 50 needy families around Labasa were paid a visit by the religious group.

Labasa TISI Sangam Secretary Ajesh Nair said they wanted to remember vulnerable families that really needed help during this festive season.

“We have visited 50 families altogether and visited settlements like Wainikoro where we took food packs containing basic food items,” Mr Nair said

“This was the project of Labasa Sangam to try and make some difference to the lives of the poor in our society.

“It is also a way of giving back to the community and giving these vulnerable people a chance to feel that they are part of the community.”

He said most of the families they visited were really vulnerable people in the community who also deserved to celebrate Diwali in a good way.
