Miss World Fiji, Charlene Tafuna’i is determined to raise enough funds to buy a ventilator for children’s ward at Suva’s Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

A range of activities had been run and another fundraiser would take place tonight at the Traps Bar in Suva.

The fundraiser is part of her Beauty with a Purpose initiative.

Miss Tafuna’i calls on people to support this fundraiser and help the children with breathing complications.

“I visited the hospital several times as part of my Beauty with a Purpose visit and I am determined to raise as much awareness and charitable funds to help purchase a new ventilator,” she said.

“A ventilator helps new born children with breathing complications and this is something I would like to donate during my reign.”

.The fundraiser is part of a few initiatives taking place to help raise $65,000 funds towards buying a new ventilator.

Miss World Fiji national director, Andhy Blake said 80 per cent of the overall scores at the Miss World contest were based on the Beauty with a Purpose project.

“This is something we hope would elevate Miss Fiji’s performance at the 64th Miss World finals that begins in London next month,” he said.

“The tickets for the fundraiser are only $20 and can be purchased from Bulacinno and F1 mobile in Garden City Suva or at the door tonight starting at 7pm.”

Well known artists like Knox Band would be featured at the Bar with other local performances.

Miss Tafuna’i urged members to come forward and support the worthy cause.
