First Landing Saint Ann retained their title after defeating Tokatoka Westfield Dragons 17-0 in the final during the Mount Saint Mary’s 7s at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, yesterday.

Team manager Timoci Nasilasila said that they were confident of winning from the start.

“We knew we had a huge responsibility to defend the title and we came prepared,”he said.

“The boys did a really good job as it was a pretty tough match against the Dragons.”

With no tries from both team during the first half, First Landing Saint Ann managed to score two tries to Tanoa Baleidama and one to Maikeli Varo in the second spell.

Organiser Dominiko Banidawa was pleased with the turnout.

“Even though this was the first time for us to host the event at the Prince Charles Park, we still managed to end the tournament on a positive note,” he said.

He said that there were still rooms for improvement come next year.
