‘Asia Tour In June’

The Fiji national football team is likely to play against Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand before the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea in July.
Fiji Football Association vice-president Tarunesh Reddy says the Asia tour is likely to be in June.
“National coaching director Carlos Buzzetti and the Vodafone Under-20 coach Ravinesh Kumar departs for Malaysia tomorrow (today) to attend a FIFA conference,” Reddy said.
“They will also have discussions with the Asian Football delegates on the tour.”
Meanwhile, Buzzetti is impressed with national squad members after their camp in Ba last week.
“It was the best camp I had and I’m impressed with players behavior and commitment during the one week,” Buzzetti said.
“We are planning to have another camp in February as our focus is in our preparations in training.
Districts warned
The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is sending out strong message to the districts to finish their local league on time.
This is to allow the districts to nominate two clubs for the National Club Championship (NCC) in December.
Fiji FA vice-president Tarunesh Reddy said they won’t be lenient on districts anymore
“Districts are required to nominate two teams for the NCC following the end of their local league competition,” he said.
Reddy said in the past they had been lenient on districts but this time if any of the districts failed to nominate their clubs they would be in trouble.
“Fiji FA Board of Control will meet in December and those districts who didn’t nominate teams will be disciplined.
“We want to set a strong platform in the development of football and it all starts from the local league,” Reddy said.
The NCC is scheduled to kick-off on December 6-7 and the venue is yet to be decided by the Fiji FA.
