Organisers of the 2014 Western Division FMF Chow Games expect fireworks during the two-day meet on November 14-15 at Govind Park, Ba.

Media liaison officer Ramesh Raman said the Games promise nothing less than exciting as top athletes from Navosa to Rakiraki aim to be crowned as the western champions.

“All the athletes and districts will be hungry to grab a medal,” Raman said.

“Every district will be looking forward to dethrone the current champions Lautoka.”

The official launch of the event will be held at the Ba Civic Centre next week after a march by the captains from the eight districts.

“On November 7, district captains from Navosa to Rakiraki will lead a march from the Gujarati Grounds in Ba to mark the launch,” Raman said.

“We anticipate a large turnout during the two-day event.”

The districts participating are Nadroga, Navosa, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Ra and Yasawa.
