Fiji Directors Course Confirmed To Be Held In November In Suva

The Australian Institute of Company Directors is conducting the final Fiji Directors Course for 2014 from November 10 to 12 in Suva.

The Fiji Directors Course provides a solid foundation of knowledge for directors, while also covering what are the core duties and responsibilities of directors in Fiji.

This course will provide key insights for directors by focusing on integral aspects of a successful board – Governance, Finance and Strategy & Risk.

The Fiji Directors Course will be facilitated by David Evans FAICD and David Ashton-Lewis.

Speaker background

Mr Evans has over 30 years senior banking and finance experience in Western Australia, interstate and in the Asia/Pacific region.

He was recently the Senior Manager Indigenous Banking, Western Australia for Westpac and previously the Chief Credit Officer WA.

Each regional presentation will conclud with an optional workshop designed to focus on specific aspects of growth planning and implementation.

Mr Ashton-Lewis is a retired High Court Judge. He was admitted to practice in the State Supreme Courts of Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland, the Federal Courts and the High Court of Australia.

In addition to this, he is a Barrister and Solicitor and Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Papua New Guinea.

And he is a former Justice of the High Court and Appellate Courts of Fiji.

In 1989, Mr Ashton-Lewis was honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his service to the constitutional law development in the Pacific islands.
