The Fiji senior cricket team arrived in Brisbane on Sunday to begin their five-week tour of Australia, culminating in the Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers and 50-over World Cricket League Qualifiers in Lismore, New South Wales.

The 16 players and manager Saiasi Fuli were greeted in Brisbane by their coach Shane Jurgensen and travelled the two -hour journey by road to Maroochydore on Sunshine Coast where they will be based for the next two weeks.

Reports from within the camp highlight ‘questionable music genres’ which were notably facilitated by a senior member of the squad making the journey considerably more painful than it could have been.

Despite this the entire squad is in great spirits and ready to get to work. The team spent the afternoon settling into their accommodation and acclimatising themselves with their new surroundings.

Yesterday the squad have two training sessions scheduled in preparation for their first matches of the tour on Wednesday and Thursday against the Sunshine Coast Scorchers Invitational XI. Cricket Fiji
