Those totally blaming Fiji Labour Party (FLP) leader Mahendra Chaudhry for the party’s downfall in the recent general elections should maybe think again.

Dickie Bird was told yesterday by an unsuccessful Labour candidate that they had given their all. But the swing of votes to the FijiFirst Party was something that was beyond their control. He said while campaigning in the sugar belt area they were told by their supporters that voting for Labour has brought nothing but coups.

It started in 1987 and it happened again in 2000, they said.

LANDING LEASES

Raravula subdivision landowners in Nakawakawa, Wainunu in Bua, are excited that apart from companies now some prominent people in the country have taken up the offer of leasing their land.

Dickie Bird said the latest one is a 60-acre agriculture lease and word is that the land lease deal is getting better by the day.

PLAYERS BEWARE

Our national sports representatives should be very much.

Dickie Bird said from next year the anti-doping law is coming into place and anyone found positive to drug abuse means an immediate four-year ban from participating at all levels.

If you’re on a contract overseas it could mean losing it as well.
