Defending champions of the Pacific Cup, Shop N Save Nadi have shift their focus to the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League which starts month.

This was confirmed by Nadi team director Javed Ahmed.

“We will focus on the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League matches before we prepare for to defend the Pacific Cup,” team director Javed Ahmed said.

“Nadi plays Rewa at Ratu Cakobau Park on November 15 and we will start training next week.

“We want to win the next league title.”

Ahmed says Nadi will use the two league matches as a build-up to defend the Pacific Cup title for the third consecutive year.

“After the local club competitions players will re-group to start the training for the match against Rewa.”

And while the Pacific Cup dates have been moved to November 26-30, this gives the side four weeks to prepare well.

“During the Pacific Cup last year, Rahul Krishna made his debut and has been in good form for the senior side since.

“We would like to take most of our local players and we might consider including two overseas-based players,” he said.

Nadi has been grouped in a pool of death alongside Ba, AFFA, NZ Nadi and New Zealand Three in Pool A. Pool B includes 2014 IDC champion Suva, Queensland, NZ Ba, AFFA Sydney and Rewa.

The 2014 Pacific Cup kicks off at the Sydney United Sports Complex, Edensor in Australia next month.
