North Road urgency

The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Pio Tikoduadua wants quicker updates on road projects to help him answer questions from stakeholders. He made this point on Monday when touring the Northern Division, checking on capital projects undertaken by the Commissioner Northern’s Office.

Mr Tikoduadua was briefed by Divisional Planning Officer Uraia Rainima on the progress of all the projects.

“I want to visit roads that really need upgrading and cut new roads in Vanua Levu,” said Mr Tikoduadua.

Mr Tikoduadua said he wanted an efficient reporting system so he would be able to answer everything at the touch of a button.

The Minister also visited and inspected the Savusavu highway and road to Napuka Secondary School.
Napuka Secondary School Principal Tomasi Takala was grateful for the ministerial tour to the area.

“We are so fortunate and blessed that Mr Tikoduadua is here with us and we wished we would have been informed in advance so that we can prepare something for him,” Mr Takala said.

“I think he is the first minister to come and visit the school and we wished he stayed a bit longer so that we can voice out our grievances to him,” he said.
