Sailors Prepare For Cyclone Season

Sailors at the Vuda Marina are well-prepared for the cyclone season, which is from November to April.
Marina general manager Adam Wade said on Monday that they have advised sailors on safety measures that are to be taken.
“We are advising them to remove their wind panels and all sort of things to avoid item from flying off,” he said.
Mr Wade said at the moment they are closely monitoring the weather forecast.
“We have subscribed with Na Draki and also keep a close follow up with the Fiji Meteorological Centre to stay updated with the weather conditions,” Mr Wade said.
He said the marina was so far one of the safest in the region.
“The marina is designed in such a way where cyclones will not make as much damage. If sailors take heed of the safety advice than they should not be a lot to worry about.”
