Vodafone Eases Access To Flight Information

Those travelling out of the country can now check the status of their flights anywhere using Vodafone Fiji network services.

This follows the official launch of Vodafone Fiji’s Information SMS Services yesterday in which the mobile operator has partnered with Air Terminal Services.

The launch was done at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island in Nadi.

Vodafone head of enterprise development, Antonio Kitione, said the service will ease access to flight information for their customers and allow convenience.

Mr Kitione said before customers would get the information only through the ATS customer care  via telephone or online.

ATS information and communications technology manager, Ashveen Nandan said up-to-date flight information was important to prevent any disruption.

“Up to date flight information is an essential component for travel planning and provides people on the move with information,” he said.

“Conduct any research into the passenger airline travel experience and you will find that the most stressful part of travelling is the lack of transparency into flight delays.”

Mr Nandan said it was therefore an obvious and natural progression to broaden the audience and make this service available to the travelling public.
