Charting The Way In Wastewater Cleaning

Earth (South Pacific) Limited, a Fijian company operating out of Nadi, is creating a name for itself in sustainable wastewater, sewage and odour control solutions.
Set up by tourism industry pioneer, Adrian Sofield and his son and general manager Harley Sofield, the company is providing top end solution for tourism industry and other companies on improving final discharge quality of wastewater.
The company has a booth at Vodafone HOTEC Trade Show event currently underway at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island in Nadi.HOTEC is organised by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association.
Earth (South Pacific) technique of using live bacteria has been a winner for many in the industry. The company’s simple to implement and maintain system has saved their clients hundreds of thousands of dollars, they say.
Harley Sofield said Fiji’s reliance on the tourism industry meant active need for other companies to be mindful of the impact wastewater has on the environment.
He said while Fiji has very clear laws on environment conservation, poor policing and monitoring meant big companies getting away with not following through with the rules.
However, he said, Government has started taking note of the matter and changes can be noted.
Mr Sofield said what set their system apart from other similar companies was their simple to implement and maintain systems.
Earth (South Pacific) Limited has also worked with cleaning wastewater at the Penang Mill in Rakiraki.
Mr Sofield said people failed to realise how badly our environment can be damaged with chemicals and when wastewater is not discharged properly.
