Meri Raramasi was the toast of the Dreketi team after she took out the first gold medal at the FMF Chow Games at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.

Raramasi won the Under-12 girls 1500 metres.

“I feel very happy and it feels great to win gold for the first time”, Raramasi said.

“I have been training for a long time for this win. I feel I’ve achieved my mission.”

Raramasi is also taking part in the 400 metres and is looking forward to winning his second medal.

Meanwhile, Seaqaqa leads the girls’ category with 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal.

In the boys’ division, Dreketi leads with 3 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze medals.

The overall winner last year was Seaqaqa and their aim is to retain their win again this year.

FMF Chow Games North president/coordinator Eliki Vuakaca said the event has brought people together.
