Big plans are in the pipeline for the 10th Fiji Human Resources Institute convention next year.

After a successful 9th convention which ended last night at the Westin Resort and Spa at Denarau Island in Nadi, the president of the Institute, Balbeer Singh, said more international speakers and more participation would be seen next year.

Mr Singh said there were plans also to include other sections of an organisation at the convention.

While traditionally, the convention has been for HR practitioners, Mr Singh said human resources issues were for everyone.

Hence, next convention will see participation of senior managers, even information management personnel amongst others.

Mr Singh said this year’s convention has seen HR practitioners coming up with some of the best practices.

“We had a very, very successful two days. There have been very frank discussions on the part of the participants. There have been discussions about the challenges that practitioners face and how they can work to overcome those challenges.”

Mr Singh said human resources was one such field which needed the involvement from all layers of management.
