Bua Two, Labasa Two Top In North

The Flour Mills of Fiji Chow Games ended on a high note yesterday with Bua Two dominating the boys’ division while Labasa Two won the girls’ category at Subrail Park yesterday.

The best female athlete was Maraia Sainimere of Seaqaqa and best male athlete award went to Kolinio Radrudru of Bua One.

Overall winner for the two-day event went to Labasa Two having amassed 16 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze medals while Bua Two was second with 14 gold, 14 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Northern Primary Schools Athletics Association outgoing president Lawrence Nikotemo said the two-day event saw the participation of more than 900 athletes from primary schools in the three provinces in Vanua Levu.

Principal education officer Bua/Macuata Kolinio Takali applauded FMF Chow Games for taking the initiative to bring the games closer to Labasa so that schools in remote areas could participate in the annual national event.

Girls U9–Winner Labasa Two (2 gold and 1 Silver); U10-Labasa One ( 4 gold and 1 bronze),Bua (1 gold, 1 silver and 12 bronze); U11- Labasa Two (3 gold),  Seaqaqa (2 gold); U12- Wailevu (3 gold),                 Dreketi ( 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze); U13-Labasa Two (3 gold), Wailevu (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze);U14 Bua Two (3 gold, 1 silver), Seaqaqa ( 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).

Boys: U9-Labasa One (2 Gold), Cakau Central ( 1 gold, 2 silver); U10 – Bua Two (2 gold, 2 silver), Lomanitoba ( 2 gold); U11 -Bua Two (4 gold, 1 silver),Labasa Two ( 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze); U12 -Wailevu ( 3 gold), Dreketi ( 2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze); U13- Bua One ( 2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Labasa One (2 gold, 1 bronze); U14-Taveuni ( 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).

Overall winner –Girls: Labasa Two  (11 gold, 3 silver),  Bua Two ( 6 gold, 6 silver, 5 bronze)

Boys Division: Bua Two (7 gold, 8 silver, 2 bronze), Labasa 1 (6 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze).
