Bua One sprinter Kolinio Radrudru won three gold medals and was named 2014 FMF  Chow Games best male athlete at Subrail Park yesterday.

The 13-year-old won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay events.

“The three gold medals are for my grandmother at home in Nawailevu Village in Bua who has supported me a lot during my preparation,” he said.

“Winning the 100m and 200m on Day One gave me more strength to win in the finals (yesterday) and I thank God for his blessing.

“I would like to also excel in team sports such as rugby but if the opportunity in athletics comes my way, then I’d love to stay on.

“There was a lot of pressure on me but the great Bua team sprit kept me firing to hit the tape first.

“I’d like to thank the Bua One coaches for their guidance and the squad for the team effort.”

He clocked 12:06secs in the 100metres final.
