Savusavu Jetty Now Reopened

The Savusavu Jetty is now re-opened after it was closed for a month so repair works could be carried out.
This was confirmed yesterday by Fiji Roads Authority (FRA).
In a statement FRA indicated the Savusavu Jetty was temporally closed to allow them to carry out improvements to the steel ramp installed on top of the jetty last Christmas.
“The work is being carried out at the request of the shipping companies to improve the operation and safety for the roll on roll off ferries to load and unload vehicles,” stated FRA.
FRA has primarily taken into consideration the services that could be affected as a result of the temporary closure through consultations and arrangements with shipping companies that use the jetty.
“These consultations were undertaken to minimise the interruption to shipping services in the area.”
