Road Hit Victim’s Body Cremated

The body of the ten- year-old boy who died in an accident on Monday was cremated on Wednesday.

Navish Prasad, a Year Four student of Dilkusha Methodist Boys School, in Nausori was hit by a car along Koronivia Road while on his way to school.

His father, Ugendra Prasad, said: “This incident that happened to my child can also happen to another child.

“I am deeply worried about the bus services in this area which has really affected students living in the area. Most of them will have to walk to the main road to catch a bus to school because of the unreliable bus service in this area.

“I’m pleading with the bus companies to relook at their services and especially the Government to take consideration on daylight savings which has really affected school children,” Mr Prasad said.

In a befitting farewell, his fellow students and teachers lined up along the school corridors to pay their last respects.

Meanwhile, the driver involved in the Koronivia accident has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving. He is in Police custody.
