The Telecom Fijiana team steps up preparations for the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast Sevens in Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka next week.
Coach Iliesa Tanivula said they aim to defend the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast Sevens.

“Our priority is the Dubai Sevens, the Coral Coast Sevens is just as important but considering it is the women’s first time being featured in the IRB Women Sevens World Series, we want to make it a good outing,” Tanivula said.

“This Coral Coast Sevens will be another good preparation platform for the girls and also it gives them more game time.”
Conditioning is the main focus for the women this week and Tanivula said it has been intense especially when they have a title to defend as they are the 2013 Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast Sevens champion.

“Training has been really been intense these past few days and we have mainly been working on the girl’s fitness.

“The players are excited and looking forward to the tournament next week. Hopefully, by next week we will switch to game mode and tackle the hurdles we have to face.

“We currently have the extended squad training and next week we will see where things go but preparations are going well and there have been a few niggling injuries but nothing major.”

Tanivula has been getting help from the Vodafone Fiji 7s team managers and said he is grateful for Paula Biu and Ropate Kauvesi’s contribution.

“They have been helping us out in the logistics of the game and have been a tremendous help on and off the field and it will really aid us in our preparations.” he said.

The TFL Fijiana team will break camp today and resume on Monday ahead of the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast Sevens in Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka next week.
